The Napoleonic Wars were a series of conflict between 1799 and 1850 that brought France into conflict with several strong European powers, which were primarily financed and led by Britain. As skirmishes along the border increased in intensity, Prussia and Austria waged war on Napoleon, starting the first of the 5 major conflicts. The major effect that the wars had were on trade, as such a large area was mixed up in the conflict.
