The Congress of Vienna took place in 1814 and 1815 and was a meeting of the great powers that defeated Napoleon (Britain Austria, Prussia, Russia). They basically dismantled his army and forestalled further revolution, which proved to be extremely effective. They also attempted to find and suppress communism, and nationalist and Republican activists.
