10 abr 1854 ano - London Cholera Outbreak

Descrição:

Cholera had already killed over 14,000 people in London in the 19th century. London's sewer infrastructure was lacking and didn't reach many of the outer parts of the city. In these areas, due to the high population density, sanitary conditions were hellish. The 1854 outbreak killed over 600 people in the southern part of London. The outbreak led to new discussions on the source of disease, with the germ theory gaining popularity among medical theorists. There was also a greater focus on sanitation services and cleanliness in the following years.
