Being part of the World Trade Organization helped Mexico become more globalized and strengthened their economy. Members of the World Trade Organization are able to trade in each others markets as equals, and trading barriers such as tariffs are lower for other countries in the WTO as well. By keeping safe trade connections, Mexico secured a way to strengthen their economy.
