While it is evident that the people were engaged in rebuilding since the visit of Christ, it is not until this year that these public works are mentioned.

It seems that as the people multiplied quickly and once again began to spread across the land there was more need to rebuild the many cities that had been destroyed, or to complete repairs in places where only a few had been done so far.
It does seem that the city of Zarahemla was fully rebuilt in this year, as were other cities that could be rebuilt.

Of course, many cities were so completely destroyed, but covered with water or mountains, that no repairs could ever be made.
