General William T. Sherman went on a destructive rampage throughout Georgia starting with the Battle and subsequent Fire of Atlanta. Sherman helped out the Union by destroying Confederate supply lines and farms along his famed March to the Sea. He ended his March with giving the city of Savannah to Lincoln as a Christmas present.
