This was a military crisis between Greece and Italy. It was triggered when an Italian general and his staff went on a commission to resolve a border conflict between Albania and Greece was murdered in Greek territory. They tried to form an agreement but Greece didn't comply with it so the Italian navy bombarded and occupied the island of Corfu. The League of Nations condemned Italy's actions and forced Greece to pay reparations and apologize. This was significant for Italy because it increased its militant society as well as tension between Italy and the League of Nations.
