18 maio 1863 ano - General Ulysses S. Grant commanded troops for the Battle and Siege of Vicksburg. Grant accomplished to split the Confederacy with this move resulting in a step towards Union victory in the war. Grant eventually became the chief commander of the Union army for the war.
