On December 7th, 1941, The Empire of Japan attacked the island of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, intending to destroy much of the United States’ pacific fleet. The attack came due to Japan’s goals of conquest and their need for raw materials that the United States had cut off from them. The attack caused America to declare war on Japan and join in an alliance with Britain and the Soviet Union.
