19 abr 1775 ano - Battles of Lexington and Concord
Descrição:
The Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 occurred after British Parliament learned that the Colonists were stockpiling guns for a possible war. To stop this from happening, British Parliament sent troops to the town of Concord to capture the colonists military surplus and to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams. The Minutemen assembled in Lexington to try and stop the British from reaching Concord. The captain of the militia ordered his men to retreat and the British forces continued towards Concord. When the British made it to Concord, Hancock and Adams were gone and they were ambushed by the colonial militia. This caused the British to retreat back to Boston. These battles marked the escalation of the conflicts between the colonies and British Parliament.
