*The Wampanoag chief got tired of his peoples’ land taken away from the English*, and he launched a rebellion. Also, known as “King Phillip” the chief led a rebellion to kick the English back out to the sea. His army was made of many tribes working together towards a common goal. King Phillip attacked half of New England’s settlers and about four thousand people died, three thousand of them were his own men that died. The English fought against the chief with an alliance with the Iroquois and Mohawk tribes. King Phillip died in battle, and his conjoined tribal alliance fell apart. Eventually, the English gained more land and disposed more Native Americans. Key Concept 2.1.III
