This was a very important event because this meant that Germany was going to take the blame for the war and was going to pay most of the cost. Now this is very important for the other countries because they want to keep their money and be at blame. Germany was forced to sign this treaty and the other countries made it and that meant that Germany was going to be at blame no matter what.
