Protestant King Henry of Navarre( Henry IV of France) and Catholic Margaret of Valois married to reconcile both groups; however, Huguenot Coligny was murdered afterwards. The huguenots besiege Catholic Paris as reprisal, leading to an increase in fears and tension once again. King Charles IX ordered an attack on the Huguenots, resulting in a huge massacre.
