A Final Standing Ovation for Raf Simons at Jil Sander.

According to Cathy Horyn who wrote for On The Runway by The New York Times in 2012, she mentioned how the finale scene at the end of the Jil Sander show was not like anything that she has ever experienced in the 25 years of covering the industry.

Throughout the collection, it was an elaboration of a couple's domestic life with a morning lingerie to wool coats and black cocktail dresses. As the audience gave Raf Simons a standing ovation, only to be acknowledged with a smile and wave and then disappeared backstage, which was closed to guests majorly because Raf wanted to avoid an emotional scene and questions about his departure from Jil Sander.

As Raf Simons went out of sight, the audience moved forward against the entrance of the backstage, applauding again. Some even stood on the runway and just continued to applaud for almost a minute. This was when he came back out with his face filled with tears.
