Type:
Ebola is a blood-borne pathogen, it has infectious microbes present in the blood that can cause infection. It can enter new hosts through broken skin or mucous membranes.

Mortality rate:
It can reach almost to 90%, it's considered a bio safety level 4 as there are no vaccines, it's highly contagious, and there is no cure.

Different strains:
- Zaire
- Sudan
- Bundibugyo
- Reston
- Tai forest

Symptoms:
- Fever, sore throat, headache, muscle pain (in the first few days)
- Impaired Kidney and Liver, diarrhea, rash, vomiting blood, passive behavior
- Bruising, brain damage, bleeding from nose, mouth, eyes, anus.
-Loss of consciousness, seizures, massive internal bleeding, death

Prevention:
- Avoid body fluid contact (Ebola is contagious but it's extremely hard to contract unless you have direct contact with the person's body fluids. Do not panic)

Treatment?:
- There is no FDA treatment
- Only supportive care
- Earlier treatment = better results
- Medicine only for symptoms

Hope?
Yes, there is hope! There is currently in progress a vaccine for ebola, it's been tested and so far it appears to be working (3,300 people were vaccinated and none got it). However since Ebola is so new we have no idea how it's going to shift and change in the future.
