- The event focused on employment discrimination, civil rights abuses against African Americans, Latinos, other disenfranchised groups, and support for the Civil Rights Act that the Kennedy Administration was attempting to pass through Congress. This was a major impact for the civil rights movement as this was also where and when MLK gave his famous, "I have a dream speech."
People Involved- MLK, Many other civil rights activist, Bayard Rustin, Joan Bayez, and about 250,000 others who wanted to show their support and opinions.
-This occurred in Washington D.C. in the National Mall.
- The purpose of the march was to advocate for the civil and economic rights of African Americans. At the march, Martin Luther King Jr delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech in which he called for an end to racism. The march was also to push for Kennedy to create a strong civil rights bill.
- One major outcome that came out of the great success of this march was that Kennedy ended up creating the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Also this event brought up a huge amount of belief in the Civil Rights Movement due to it's success as well as M.L.K. Jr's famous speech.
