Brown v Board of Education was a SCOTUS case dealing with segregation in schools. The Supreme Court ruled, the plaintiff was named Oliver L Brown and he filed his case against the board of education. The case was filed in Topeka, Kansas before going to the Supreme Court in Washington, DC. One major cause was the segregation was unfair not just in education standards but in the fact some of the black only schools were hard to access and there were fewer. One major effect of this case was that it sparked the civil rights movement.
