People involved: Martin Luther King Jr., A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin, and an alliance of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations including around 250,000 people
Where: Washington DC
Cause: Blacks were done with being hurt by racism and wanted to take matters into their own hands. This march was a peaceful protest.
Effect: helped pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964
