On 28 June 1919, the treaty of Versailles was signed between the central and the allied powers to declare peace and to put a stop to the war. The last condition to the Treaty of Versailles was that the allies blamed Germany for starting the war and that Germany would have to pay reparations(Compensation for the damages).
