For sixty years, the US Navy ran live-fire drills on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques. However, following the accidental death of Puerto Rican naval base employee in one of these live-fire drills, the island unites in opposition of these drills. The protests culminate in lawsuits and the arrest of more than 180 prisoners. The Navy promises to stop the drills by 2003.
