Orbis Terrarum was a map created by Petrus Plancius and was published in 1590 in the Netherlands. This world map depicts the fictional island of Hy-Brazil, labeled as Brazil. The island was to show up one day every seven years. Plancius himself claimed to have seen the island which is why many of his maps include Brazil.
