Descrição:
661 CE - 750 CE The Umayyad Caliphate was the second caliphate of Islam. It is known for its forced tax on people who were not Muslim (the jizya). The rulers did not want converts, as they wanted to expand their wealth off of this tax. Due to them not properly distributing wealth among the lower classes, they angered its citizens who wanted them to follow Allah's wishes. They were overthrown by the Abbasids due to this. (3.2)
