The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 was the first wage boost in 10 years. This raises the minimum wage of $5.15 to $5.85 and two more increases over the next two years to $7.25. With this, workers that used to make $5.15 will now have more money to spend or save. This will help increase the standard of living and the economy will now have more money circulating. This money that the people now have can go towards buying goods and services from businesses, which will increase the business’s profit. On the down side, businesses now have to pay their employees just over two dollars more than before, which could cause some finacial problems.
