The Kuomingtang was established on August 25, 1912, in Shanghai, China. Called the “Nationalist party”, it was established in order to overthrow the Chinese Monarchy. While noble in its conception, the Nationalist Party failed miserably, and did not provide a stronger democratic government. It also did not successfully suppress the CCP or eliminate government corruption due to a lack of strong leadership and direction.
