31 jan 2009 ano - Canada’s Economic Action Plan
Descrição:
The canadian economic action plan was a set of programs developed by infrastructure canada to fund projects that could be started quickly in order to improve quality of life and stimulate the economy. The economic action plan was very similar to keynesian economics except it was not just intended to improve the economy, there was also a side goal of improving quality of life and protecting the environment. The clearest example of this would be in health care, increased healthcare/medical spending doesn’t improve the economy much and keynes would advocate it goes to EI or pension plans, but under the Canadian economic action plan funding for healthcare and similar services was increased. The canadian economic action plan was a clear shift to the left, beforehand canada was still relatively Laissez faire (like the united states) but were forced to adopt Keynesian policy to survive the depression brought on by the 2008 housing crisis.
