Manuscript of marriage poem written to celebrate marriage of French princess Agnes to Alexios; the simplicity and clarity of the text suggests that it may have been intended as a primer to help her learn Greek.

French identity: Maria, the French wife of Emperor Manuel, is depicted as if she is welcoming Agnes, however Maria was not actually present to do so; Agnes' long braids and red cloak are French, but she is shown adopting Byzantine fashions
