The Reign of Terror was the result of the Committee of Public Safety trying to eliminate France's enemies. The leader, Maximillien Robespierre, decided most of the deaths. The reign ended when he died. He was executed by guillotine for all to see. The date listed is the beginning of the Reign of Terror.
