The American System was an economic plan designed by Henry Clay. The idea hoped to establish industries such as national banks,roads canals, and other forms of transportation. However, Henry Clay was not the only man to be a part of this plan. John C. Calhoun and John Quincy Adams played a role in this, but were not as well known for their part.
