1 jan 1944 ano - Erwin Chargaff: "Chargaff's Rules"

Descrição:

Erwin Chargaff was an Austrian biochemist and went on to become a professor of biochemistry at Columbia University.

Throughout his career he has published many papers on chromatographic techniques to study nucleic acids.

After the discovering the work of Oswald Avery and his identification of DNA as hereditary material, he began to work with DNA himself in 1994.

With his work, he established "Chargaff's Rules."
1. Percentages of DNA nucleotides are roughly for adenine and thymine, as well as guanine and cytosine.
2. His second rule stated that DNA composition varies from one species to another, particularly in relative percentages of nucleotides.
