John Brown raided a federal arsenal in Harpers Ferry, VA. He helped to arm local slaves with the weapons they stole and and lead a black rebellion to end all slavery.
Republicans: "Not good, bro."
Democrats: "'Course it would happen with your Republican views!"
VA: "Nah, bruh, that's--that's not good." And then they hanged him.
Transcendentalists: "Muy bien!" (but in a country accent)
Anti-slavery northerners: "Yeah boiiiii!"
Slave-holding states: "You're tryin' t' destroy our society! You gon' have t' deal with the consequences o' that, son."
