General Andrew Jackson stopped a British Attack at New Orleans. Still at war with the British, Jackson was claimed victorious with very few casualties in comparison to the 2,000 + men that were killed on British side. This event was critical as it gave Jackson an even more of a reputation than before, which would later allow him to become Pres.
