On September 6th, 1901, President William McKinley was in Buffalo, New York to make a speech after leading America to an easy victory over Spain in the Spanish American War. People were waiting on line to greet the president. One man in line was Leon Czolgosz. He was angry with the unequal amounts of wealth among different social classes. Czolgosz has hiding a gun under a white handkerchief. When McKinley extended his hand, Leon Czolgosz shot him in the stomach.
