“tabula rasa” & are shaped by
experiences
 We have God-given natural
rights (life, liberty, property)
 Purpose of gov. is to protect our
rights, if they fail to do this,
people have the right to rebel
 Gov. power comes from people
- natural laws. Since humans have all of these abilities, they should have their abilities protected.
