Enraged that Anne was marrying higher than her, she tried to poison Arth with Gift made for her by her father Plus.

The attempt fails, and Prim is among the suspects. She's incredibly offended by the (rightful) suspicion, and swans off to Marlon in a huff.

By doing so, she abandons the lessons she'd been taking with the mage Elluka Clockworker.
