1 jan 1927 ano - The famous five persons case
Descrição:
Emily Murphy, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Nellie Mcclung, Louise Crummy Mckinney, and Irene Parlby all campaigned for the right of women to be on the Senate, for the purpose of equality and fairness. In 1928 the Supreme court rules women were not "persons" and couldn't be on the Supreme Court, but in 1929 the Privy |Council of England reversed this decision. This also meant that women could no longer be denied certain rights because of their status as persons.
