Machiavelli, a writer born in Florence, wrote this literary work while he was on exile. The purpose of "The Prince" was to show people how they can create and maintain power, some of the political idealism in The Prince includes the fact that the most ideal form of politics are the ones linked with ethics (objective knowledge and subjective visions). The prince can be seen as a political handbook and a nationalist treaty, because he wanted to unite Italy.
