Descrição:
The charter allowed Raleigh to "discover, search, find out, and view such remote heather and barbarous Lands, Countries, and territories... to have, hold, occupy, and enjoy." Raleigh funded and authorized the expeditions to Roanoke Island, despite never leading them.
