The Battles of Lexington and Concord, also known as the "Shot Heard 'Round the World", was what started the American Revolutionary War. These battles were between colonists, who were mainly militiamen, and British soldiers. IN Lexington there were 700 British troops against 70 militiamen and at Concord 4000 men arrived in the area where the British had retreated.
