After the end of the Qing Dynasty, the capital was moved from Nanjing to Beijing as soon as the construction of the “Forbidden City” was finished. Serving as the home to the royalty and center of the government, it lasted for more than 500 years, leaving us with what we now know as the beautiful city of Beijing.
