The First Continental Congress pass the Declaration of Rights showed that the colonies were still loyal to the British crown, but were against the British taxing them. The Articles of Association urged colonists to stop importing goods from the British if the Coercive Acts were not repealed by December 1, 1774. When these proclamations were passed, the First Continental Congress disbanded on October 26, 1774.
