How was discipline handled at home and at school?

All of my school teachers were very kind to me, as far as I can remember. They used color changing charts for discipline. I remember Ms. Colgan, my 3rd grade teacher, had some struggles with a boy in my class who threw chairs. She made a code for when he started to get violent, and when she said the code, she expected the class to evacuate and go to the hall. I thought my teachers were tasteful in their discipline, and they were good about not humiliating the students who were doing wrong.

My parents were the same way. Most of their discipline included sitting down with me and explaining why something was wrong. They never got angry or yelled at me. Instead, they sat and taught me in a kind way.
