After traveling to Berampur station with one of his older brother, Guddu, Saroo gets too tired to go on and finds a seat in a low-class traincar to sleep in.

Saroo wakes up at night to a desolate, but moving traincar. Guddu was still at the Berampur train station, as far as he knew. He's locked into the traincar, and can only hurtle along the track inside the traincar.
