After the East India Company was in crisis and Great Britain decided to do something about it. They decided to sell their tea to the American colonies. Tea was usually for the wealthy and soon became a drink that was consumed by all social classes. Even though taxes on tea wasn't anything new, colonists thought that to pay them on the new imports would acknowledge the power Britain has to tax the colonists. This lead to another event, the Boston Tea Party.
