Technicolour film was a major movie mielstone in 1935.
Becky Sharp (1935) was the first colour film.
Technicolour was achieved by overlaying three coloured filters (magenta, cyon and yellow) over black and white film. Although it did produce Technicolour successfully, the colours within the films were not accurate. They were either too dull or too bright, depending on how the shadows fell within the film. This made it unrealistic, however many audiences were so enchanted by this new technology that they did not seem to mind the inaccuracies too much.
