The Christian church split into the Orthodox Church in the East and the Roman Catholic church in the West because of limited communication between the sides.
Impact - The East and West were split further apart and solidified their own separate Identities in religion. In the East, people of all languages could attend masses because they performed mass in Greek instead of Latin. This furthered religions involvment in the Eastern half.
