Because of the rebellion of Native Americans led by Pontiac against the colonists the English decided to take action. This proclamation basically drew a line called the “Proclamation line,” this line was meant to stop the colonist from moving on to new territory. It promised that all land West of the line belonged solely to the Native Americans.
