Hernando Cortés was born in the year 1485 and he died on December 2nd 1547. His mission was to find gold in the Aztecs land. He had 650 soldiers with him to Tenochtitlán. Cortés took Motecuhzoma as prisoner, then fighting began against the Spanish and Aztecs. The Aztecs died because of the Spanish by diseases and in battles. By 1521 the Spanish conquered the ruins of Tenochtitlán, and then built Mexico City. Cortés found gold in the Aztecs land.
