Created by IMB's Feng-Hsuing Hsu with help from Thomas Anantharaman, Murray Campbell, and Chess Grandmaster, Joel Benjamin, The Deep Blue processing engine was a two-stacked computing unit that was the culmination of 30 years of AI aspirations. For years people had tried to create a computer that could play chess and in May of 1997 that dream became a reality when the Deep Blue unit beat the world champion Garry Kasparov. This event was a great achievement in artificial AI and popularized Artificial Intellegence.
