Nanking, at the time, was the capital of the Republic of China. The Nanking Massacre was an act of extreme violence where the Japanese murdered and committed rape against the residents of Nanking. There were many conflicts worldwide that caused a lot of violence and death. The Rape of Nanjing that occured in China left a devastating effect on the people of China. During this event the people of Nanjing were raped and murdered by the Japanese for authority. The above picture shows the statue of a Chang who is a famous author, who wrote the Rape of Nanking.
