4 jan 1926 ano - Heisenberg and Schrodinger (1926 AD)
Descrição:
Erwin Schrödinger (AD 1887-1961) was an Austrian physicist most known for his thought experiment known as "Schrodinger's Cat." In 1926, he worked with Werner Heisenberg (AD 1902-1976) and ultimaely laid the foundation for Quantum wave mechanics. His equation that has now become the basic equation of Quantum Mechanics explained the movement of electrons around the atoms were very similar to Newton's Laws of Motion when dealing celestial orbits. From this, Schrödinger concluded that there are multiple shell layers to atoms, and that the shells are orbitals. However, a major difference is that in celestial, specifically planetary orbits have a definite sequence of events that can be determined; whereas the behavior of the orbitals of an atom were determined by probability. This aspect of his theory was initially disliked by the majority of the scientific community, including Schrödinger. In spite of this, Schrödinger disliked the many interpretations of his theory that he had invested so much in. He spend the majority of the rest of his life trying to make philosophical objections to these interpretations. This is when he formulated the Schrödinger's Cat thought experiment.
